To be educated

Is to be smart.
Sometimes, my sister and I, will use this blog to educate.
I am no expert.
But I have common sense.

Don't get hair extensions.
If your hair is not long, well your hair is not long.
Don't try to be something you're not.
You will look trashy.

I learned the hard way:
That is me, with the red hair.  Note, the short layers on top.

Just a few more examples:

The worst offender.
Now. on the flip side, there are good hair extensions.
Usually, it costs a lot of money and/or you are African American and get a good weave.

Now, you're educated.
Don't get hair extensions if you are not:
1. Rich
2.  African American
3.  Just don't do it unless your LC.

Inspired

It recently got cold here in Prescott, Arizona.
Like really cold.
Rainy too.
My teacher wore the most amazingly beautiful hummingbird sweater to school the other day.
All I did was stare.
I didn't know what to say to her...
'Can I have your sweater?' came to mind.
But I didn't want to make things awkward.

This is not exactly what it looked like, but incredibly close:

I found it on this fantastic website:

While looking through the gemz, I was reminded of a sweater worn in "The Proposal" by Sandra Bullock.
I cannot find a proper depiction of it.
So watch the movie.

Airbrush Madness

Last night, my husband and I went to the Yavapai County fair.
My intent was to find some sweet-A pics of the awesomeness that presents itself at that particular place.
That kind of awesomeness is hard to find; I really don't know where those people come from.

We were having too much fun playing with goats to take pictures.

But I got some ideas from the folks at the fair:

Airbrush art on clothing.

I. Want. To. Be. This. Amazing.

let's play a game.  i am going to give you clues and when you know what i am talking about raise your hand.  i will then call on you to guess what i am talking about.  please don't shout out the answer.
1.  sequence
2.  Krystal
3.  Alexis
4.  Joan Collins
if you didn't guess DYNASTY, go away.  you are neither awesome nor worthy to look at the following beauty.  that being said, behold:

can we start with the obvious?  Um, eye patch.  so cool.  Secondly, fur hat.  Want.  Badly.  Red dresses.  Yes.  And finally, Joan effing Collins.  I wonder what she did in her previous lives that allowed her to come to this life as Joan Collins.  Seriously.
I also remember (vaguely) my mother watching DYNASTY.  I am incredibly happy that the 80's are coming back.  I am declaring that that is the case so it must be the truth.  Also, I wore a cardigan with sequence...and shoulder pads.  If you can get such a beauty at Kohl's, I submit that the 80's are back.  And can I have a big HELL'S YAH!?

Absolute GEM

After walking the kids to the pick-up area, I went to use the bathroom in the teacher's lounge.
As I was walking out, I saw something amazing with a note attached saying 'Up for grabs'
I took it without hesitation
I cannot believe that someone was giving this away for free.
It is fabulous.
It is just the beginning of my lifetime collection.

The best detail is on the back.
Up close for your admiration.
BEAUTIFUL

Win.

Holy crap.  I found the freaking holy grail.  When I get dressed in the morning, I only wish I had something as profoundly gorgeous as one of these to chose from to put on my bod.  I hate to call them t shirts cuz they are so much more than 1.5 yards of stretch knit cotton and thread.  They are golden.  Behold:

If you are my friend, I am getting you one of these many gemz for every holiday known to man.  Even one for St. Patrick's Day.  If everyone wore a shirt from here, wars, plagues, recessions, hunger, stupidity and death would be abolished immediately.  Amen.

An introduction

My sister and I have started this blog to showcase the awesome, beautifully ugly stuff we see every day. Hence, beautifugly.
As a disclaimer, this is not a blog to make fun of people.  Rather, it is a celebration the person(s) that we admire.  Why and what do we admire?  For one, awesomeness.  Second, confidence, because it takes tons of it to pull off some of the stuff that will be showcased.

Case it point:
Zelda Kaplan
This woman is, seriously, my hero. Apparently she is famous.  Check out http://zeldakaplan.com/
AND
Feel free to email us, post, comment, whatever,  awesome photos.

And just if anyone cared, I really, really, want this:

Enjoy the awesomeness
